While we were launching one book (The Secret World of Raine the Brain) and preparing for the launch of another (Reasons to Persist) in less than a week - yes, that's 2 books in one month!! - I got a bit behind on the blog. I'm playing catch up on the previous #Go52 themes, but until then, here's to the freedom that comes with getting back on track!
“You've always had the power my dear. You just had to learn it for yourself.” The Wizard of Oz
It's Week 34, and we're talking about feeling free. There's no magic secret to it. My guess is that you've felt it several times over in your life. You know, the same feeling you have when your "To Do" list becomes "DONE," when your have a moment to yourself and you focus on all that you have instead of all that you lack, when you finally tell that person the truth.
It's all freeing - a weight lifted off your shoulders.
You have infinite opportunities to free yourself on any given day, but as helpers we often choose to take on the burdens of others. Now don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with helping to lighten someone else's load. Where though, is your tipping point? How much can you shoulder and take care of, instead of simply shouldering?
There is a difference.
When you know that you're unable to help, don't let guilt change your mind. Remember..."Not my circus, Not my monkeys."
Do a bit of digging, find your tipping point, and free yourself.
Life is short. Live free.
